Dane Reynolds

This is what you shall do:

Watch it over your right shoulder,
Ease the board left,
Stay in front of it,
When it comes drop in casually and be beautiful,
Crouch down into the barrel
All the world is gone now
There is only present moment.

Meditation brain desire ego gone,
Crouch down into the barrel
The water moves silently over your left shoulder
Looking ahead, watch the wave rise in front of you,
Where we go from here – all the possibilities.

Cut for the lip
Strike hard at it
Every muscle every bit of molecule
Listen as the water directs
A ramp, a runway, a close out, a section……
All of life becomes a section.

(I closed my eyes and saw god leaning against a redwood tree
And he looked just like me in the quiet open air.)

Thought dissipates,
In the now, knowing full well what you are
Becoming so much more wet humble Shiva
Float through the section of light being light
It lasts longer then time and before time
There is no space, there is no interval,
In the complete fullness there is only universe unpronounceable
as one whole thing graceful smooth, Al Greene smooth, beyond tender
And a surfboard like a superhero slicing through it,
Anything is possible.

When it’s done there is only water and breath in the open air
Gone gone gone
And it’s back out to the line up
An artist once again,
Freedom misfit giant anonymous once again.

Harmless, all those tacos, all that color, all that air,
Freedom misfit giant anonymous once again
It all grows inside, it all adds up, the void a magical place,
Just getting through the day,
The rock and roll wet floozy day in the water shine
No one watches, no one cares, offering, temple, dazed

In the water light and free – the wave winks back,
All that sunshine flirting and style practice is absolute bending.

Wild wild wild

Even away from the sea
Even away from the mountains
Even away from the cliffs
Even away from the boulders,

Wild wild wild
She stays with you always.

Sunshine sunshine sunshine

Bless you silent voice,
Gentle breeze,
Painters and poets,
The simple act of virtue
Wild in the meditation of a day
The only garden in Bali.

Wild wild wild

In the mid morning light
Clean across the caring sky
Taken, proposed, empty

The saxophone waves always remain,
The sun rises higher in the sky.

Trying to look good limits my life the artist constructs.

Billboards across the void of the mind
Bring me back home
To willow valleys
And easy time on the front porch
And easy time in the tall grass
And easy time around mountain ponds
In the shadow of wise rolling hills
Indifferent and happy.

The best things in life are free her t-shirt reads.

Rich in the music filled garden on a Friday morning
“an innocent man”
A finger snap, a beat beat Friday morning
We have cold pizza and boiled water in the warriors light
Paddling across the silent void being beautiful

Being beautiful!

Want not young man in the surfing light
Surging
She plays music with portraits lining the walls of dancing women
And Buddha monks in yellow
And rock and roll men in rice fields – all rock and roll now.

Strong is beautiful
Along the crowded avenues
The traffic filled streets
The third world action accepting late night chess games
And sandy existence, the flags blow in the gentle breeze,
The statues silent in the garden,
The song ends and there is rock and roll
In a happy garden Friday in the company of friends

We all enter and leave together.

The end.

a few months ago, as a gift to a friend over the holidays, i made a small donation to this cause in their name. it was a spontaneous action and i then quickly forgot about it. this morning i received an email update from this cause via Global Giving, and was again struck by the importance of their mission.

teaching children self reliance and strength through sport is a proven and wonderful concept. sport gives people something to do, something to look forward to, energy, health, goals, community; a sense of belonging in a wild wild world, identity and patience, commitment and purpose. sport can instinctively elevate a persons sense of self worth, create a sphere of optimism, inspire one to be great and bold.

its seems fitting to take a moment here to display information about what this particular group is doing. it is inspiring to read about and a great chance to support.

what we do with our time, with our money, with our voice.

thank you,

Meditations in a raining Buddha garden

The sound of light rain,
Prayer flags strung between trees,
Green garden lush with pink flower bushes,
Meditating in the garden on a rainy morning
elevated in the country.

Paintings of women along the floor,
Children play in the next room
As the sun begins to break through the clouds.
There is light gentle across the garden in the red bush way
And my heart bursts with light.

The wrinkled foreheads of yellow robbed monks,
Young Nepalese children smiling wide, barefoot and clean,
Having everything, the air turns a bit cooler.

Turquoise blue lakes surrounded by jagged peaks,
Books on artists and protest T-shirts and stylish home design,
There are no walls and there are no doors
Existing fully seated breathing my soul, breathing my soul.

We dance all night in the open air without conspiracy.
Lost in a trance moving free around the terrace
This foot then that foot waving arms free without conciseness,
We dance all night in the open air
The bass, the minimal electronic sounds, the holy jazz sounds,
Beautiful women in a garden of bliss
Dance around the room foreign and free.

Light rain, a surfboard bag lays in the garden,
A portrait on an aging easel,
Jewelry scattered around the house,
White wine, vodka, water, pizza, expats in the simmering eve.

Easy grey sky, adorable sitting, endless grace,
Inverted in the early morning rain danced clean
Made beautiful.

Meditations in a Buddha garden spreads life
Allowing gratitude to blossom as a child waiting for rain.
